Greator Core Values and Ethical Standards

The Greator Business Coach Code of Ethics is based on the ICF Code of Ethics and the Greator Business Coach values. They form the foundation for all actions of a Greator Business Coach. All values are equally important and mutually supportive. All prospective and certified Greator Business Coaches are expected to act in accordance with these values.

The following ethical standards apply to the activities of all Greator Business Coaches:

Our responsibility towards clients

As a Greator Business Coach

  • I ensure that my coaching clients understand, prior to or at the first session, the potential value of coaching (and its limitations), the nature and limits of confidentiality, financial arrangements, and any other terms of the coaching agreement. I maintain the strictest confidentiality with all parties as agreed. I am aware of and agree to comply with all applicable laws relating to personal data and communications. Regarding confidentiality and duty of care, I follow the professional code of 2008 of the Heilpraktiker Psychotherapie, Articles 3 and 4.
  • I ensure a clear understanding of how and what information is shared between all parties involved during all coaching interactions (e.g. during supervision).
  • I ensure a clear understanding with clients or interested parties about the conditions under which information will not be treated as confidential (including illegal activities, legally required reasons, requirements pursuant to a valid court order or subpoena; risk of harm to self or others, etc.). If I reasonably believe one of the above circumstances applies, I must notify the appropriate authorities.
  • I do not keep records of clients. Should I decide to keep records of my client or the coaching, I obtain consent in advance and store the records, including electronic files and communications created in the course of my professional activities, in a manner that promotes confidentiality, security, and privacy and complies with all applicable laws and agreements (EU-GDPR).
  • I do not use the data of participants in the Greator Business Coach training for commercial purposes. This means I do not advertise myself or my products and do not use the platform to build a client base.
  • I create an agreement/contract with my clients prior to beginning services that outlines the responsibilities and rights of all parties. This is optional and only done when I deem it necessary.
  • I respect the right of all parties to terminate the coaching relationship at any time and for any reason during the coaching process, subject to the terms of the agreement.
  • I inform my clients of any potential commissions and other benefits I may receive for referring my clients to third parties.
  • I ensure consistent quality of coaching regardless of the amount or form of the agreed compensation in any business relationship.

Impartiality

As a Greator Business Coach

  • I handle conflicts of interest or potential conflicts of interest with other professional and personal activities transparently and professionally when working as a Greator Business Coach. I do this by clarifying the issue with the relevant parties, seeking professional support, or temporarily suspending or terminating the professional relationship. This includes handling relationships, records, confidentiality, and other reporting requirements.
  • I am aware of any power or status differences between the client and myself that may be caused by cultural, interpersonal, psychological, or contextual issues and treat all clients, regardless of their ethnicity or social status, equally, fairly, respectfully, and appreciatively. This means I never support discrimination based on age, gender, ethnicity, skin colour, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, disability, military status, social standing, or any other factor that would lead to disadvantage.

Our understanding of professional practice and performance

As a Greator Business Coach

  • I adhere to the Greator Business Coach Code of Ethics in all my interactions. If I become aware of a possible breach of these principles or recognise unethical behaviour in another Greator Business Coach, I address the matter respectfully with those involved. If this does not resolve the issue, I take the formal route through Greator (hello@greator.com) for resolution. Greator may then, at its own discretion, initiate attempts at clarification and reserves the right, after repeated unsuccessful attempts, to revoke the Greator Business Coach certification.
  • I inform and sensitise all my employees to comply with the Greator Business Coach Code of Ethics and require this of them.
  • I commit to continuous personal, professional, and ethical development in order to deliver excellent performance.
  • I recognise personal limitations or circumstances that may impair my coaching performance or my professional coaching relationships and create conflicts. I will seek support (e.g. through supervision or coaching) to determine the actions to be taken and, if necessary, promptly obtain appropriate professional advice. This may include suspending/interrupting or terminating my coaching relationship(s).
  • I respect the privacy of Greator Business Coach participants and will only use their contact information (email addresses, phone numbers, etc.) when approved by the individual themselves.

Our understanding of professionalism

As a Greator Business Coach

  • I accurately represent my coaching qualifications, level of coaching competence, expertise, experience, training, certifications, credentials, and the coaching competencies acquired at Greator. This applies in particular to all official media (such as my own website, advertising materials, communications).
  • I only make verbal and written statements that truthfully and accurately inform about my offer as a Greator Business Coach, the Greator Business Coach training, the coaching profession, and the potential value of coaching.
  • I take responsibility for establishing clear, appropriate, and culturally sensitive boundaries. In doing so, I respect the physical and psychological boundaries of the other person at all times.
  • I will always be attentive to what level of intimacy is appropriate for the relationship. Should a consensual relationship arise, I will question whether a professional coaching practice remains possible. If not, I will recommend working with another coach.

Our responsibility towards society

As a Greator Business Coach

  • I recognise and respect the contributions and intellectual property of others and only claim ownership of my own material. I understand that a violation of this standard may expose me to legal action by the author or parties representing them.
  • I am honest and always strive to work within recognised scientific standards, applicable subject guidelines, and the limits of my competence when conducting and reporting research. This means that when I use content from third parties, I make this clear. I also do not spread misinformation.
Greator Business Coach Seal

As a Greator Business Coach, I acknowledge the Greator Business Coach Code of Ethics and the legal obligations towards my coaching clients, colleagues, and the public, and agree to fulfil them. Should I violate any part of the Greator Business Coach Code of Ethics, I agree that Greator may hold me accountable for this at its own discretion. This means Greator reserves the right, after repeated unsuccessful attempts at clarification, to revoke the Greator Business Coach certification.
